Let’s find out what’s really holding you back from feeling exactly the way you want.

Here’s a quick exercise to help you uncover your hidden beliefs that could be getting in the way of your health and happiness:

Ask: How do I feel about myself?

Write all of your thoughts on paper and read them out loud.

How many were positive?
How many were negative?

Don’t get caught up in judging how many thoughts were negative.  Just being aware of the negative beliefs you hold inside is very powerful!

And you know what’s even more powerful?  Turning all of those negative beliefs into positive statements.

For example, take this negative thought:  “I’ll never make enough money.” 

And try saying this instead: “I always have everything I need.” Or “I always have more than enough.”  Or “I make plenty of money.” Use whichever positive statement resonates with you.

Guess what happens once you change your thoughts and truly love and accept yourself?

Good things start happening because you feel good about yourself.

But, it’s easier said than done, right? It’s often difficult to know how to get started.

I have been a student of Abraham-Hicks teachings for a few years now. They have been a huge influence in leading me to live a more positive life. It has been a dream of mine to see them live in person, and now I am going to!

Gratitude rocksI know I have written about gratitude several times before, because it really is the greatest life-changer. My favourite topic, it is the easiest switch you can flick to turn on the magnetic attraction for more great things to come to you to feel grateful for.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful forces in the Universe. It may not look as good as money, a big car, a palatial house, or the latest makeover – in fact, you can’t see it at all – but, as I’m going to show you, gratitude has more power to change your life than all these material things put together.

The dictionary tells us that gratitude is “the expression of gratefulness and thanks” but this doesn’t begin to convey its real effect. Here are an alternative set of definitions.

  • Gratitude stops you taking your life for granted and helps you realize how many good things you have in your life.
  • Gratitude makes others feel better.
  • Gratitude makes you feel better. In the words of an Arabian proverb, “The hand that gives the roses always keeps some of the scent.”
  • Gratitude raises your awareness of things around you.
  • Gratitude is easy, quick, and simple.
  • Gratitude is an instant blues-breaker and stress-reliever.
  • Gratitude changes your view of so-called “bad” things.
  • Gratitude frees you from petty annoyances.
  • Gratitude inspires you.
  • Gratitude puts your thoughts and feelings on a high vibration level that in turn attracts back to you more things to be grateful for.
  • Gratitude nourishes the soul.
  • Gratitude is like compound interest on money in the bank: the more you put in, the more you get out.

That’s the “what” of gratitude. To show you the “how”, here are three things you can do to make the Gratitude Attitude a firm fixture in your life.

gratitude rocks, thankful1. Create a Thank Bank. A Thank Bank is simply a place where you can jot down all the things that you are grateful for in your life. You can split the bank into different accounts such as Family, Surroundings and Work, and then simply start writing out your thanks until you stop. Put your list somewhere safe and pull it out when you’re feeling down and you’ll instantly change your mood.

2. Show Gratitude Quietly. Don’t turn gratitude into a promotional or motivational tool. Too much thanks is as ineffective as too little. Instead, express your thanks in quiet ways: a thought, a prayer, a one-on-one word, a note of appreciation. Give people gifts of thanks that aren’t bought at shops: a bit of your time, a sacrifice, something valuable to you.

3. Always Replace the 3 C’s With the 3 A’s. If you work or manage others, and sometimes feel the need to use one of the 3 C’s – complaining, condemning, and criticising – replace them with the 3 A’s of Accepting, Acknowledging, and Appreciating. Accept people for who they are; acknowledge them for what they do; and appreciate them for just being around. Remember that when you appreciate others, your reputation and respect appreciates too.

There’s nothing complicated about gratitude. It’s something we can all do. We so often don’t do it because we forget, because we focus on the few so-called bad things in our lives, and because we take the wonderful things for granted. So change your life. Put gratitude just below your level of consciousness, and every day will become one of joy and delight.

This is just so simple, even an adult can play it 😀

We most often think of this as a children’s game, using it simply to teach the alphabet. But it’s a really good tool adults can use too, and of course please play it with your children; the earlier they can learn this fun version, the happier life they will have.

This game can move you from a ‘bleurgh’ frame of mind to a more positive one, an improved energy vibration, really quickly. Think of the most good-feeling words you can beginning with each letter of the alphabet, and really focus on the word and how it feeeeeeeels in your body. According to Abraham-Hicks, what you focus on for 68 seconds is on it’s way to you, and what can be better than the feeling of pure positive emotion.

You don’t have to think of just one word. You can stay on each letter for as long as you are coming up with words that move you into your good-feeling place. You can play it with family and friends. A great place to play it is if you’re stuck in traffic, as I always find if I stop myself getting frustrated and begin to think good thoughts, it’s amazing how quickly the traffic clears.

If you play it when you’re already feeling good, it helps you really milk that good feeling and adds momentum to the manifestation of amazing events.

You don’t even have to use real words if you prefer to make up your own, as long as they feel good and get you laughing. I played this game with my friend Heather, who uses gobbledygook as a way to distract her mind from negative thoughts, and for Q she came up with ‘Quiddly diddly quoromungous quantitude’. The important thing is to have FUN 😀

Life is like an onion, peel back the layers, subconsciousWhen you decide that you are not satisfied with your life as it is, and resolve that you want to change it, the most important part of changing your life lies in changing your thoughts, which have created your beliefs, and thus influence your actions.

You have to free yourself from the mental bondage which is holding you where are you.

Positive thinking and affirmation will go a long way towards changing your mindset, but for some it just doesn’t feel ‘true’, and when that happens you create resistance. It’s no good affirming to yourself ‘I am abundant in all areas of my life’ if your head is saying ‘Well that’s bullshit!’.

So what causes your head to resist positive affirmation? The memories that have stored themselves in the layers of your subconscious. So why would your subconscious do this to you? Surely it should help you and work for your benefit? Well, it actually believes it is doing just that. It tries to stop you from being hurt or disappointed again.

You can positively affirm all you like. It’s a great start. But it took time to develop your current mindset, and to change or improve it could take a long time too, because your subconscious will try to keep protecting you and nag you to do what it’s always done.

A bit like having a stain on your carpet: you could cover it with a rug or a plant pot. But you will always know the stain is there, and every so often you will trip up on the rug or the plant pot. Using this analogy, you can’t go out and buy a new carpet (buy a new mind). The only way to cure the problem is to get that stain removed, and it may take a lot of scrubbing.

Like an onion, our subconscious has created layers. Something happened when we were a child to make us have a reactive emotion. Sometime later another incident happens that reinforces that feeling. We accept it as the way we are. We come to believe that thought, feeling, emotion is ‘normal’ for us.

The layers build as we get older, and the thoughts, beliefs and resulting actions shape our lives. They become part of our substance. Then by accepting the thoughts as true, we attract further evidence to support the belief; thoughts like ‘That always happens to me’, ‘I’m just unlucky’, ‘I always get hurt’.

Life IS abundant. It is only our resistance to that belief that pushes abundance away.

To truly heal your subconscious, involves doing some self-inquiry as to why you might think a thought.

Think of the most recent incident that caused a thought. For instance, you didn’t get a promotion at work or you lost your job. Your first thoughts may be, ‘I’m not good enough’, or ‘They didn’t appreciate me, even though I worked really hard’.

Then look for more instances where you might have had that same thought. It could be something like you having cooked a new recipe up, and your partner saying ‘Yeah it was OK’, or ‘I’m not really keen on that (ingredient), or not offering any positive feedback. Or maybe you’ve made a mistake with something and you thought ‘It’s no good, I’m just not good enough. I’ve failed’.

You need to really peel back the layers. Go back as far as you can. As with peeling an onion, there will be tears. It will be painful. You may fight with your subconscious much of the way. It’s trying to protect you. It will bury the thoughts even deeper. It doesn’t want you to feel hurt.

You may find it takes you back to a very young age, probably before the age of seven, which is when most of our downloading and programming took place, as our brain was working in theta brainwave state (the state used for learning, and also for hypnosis), so we soaked it all up like a sponge. It could have been something we may consider as relatively harmless, e.g. you draw a lovely picture for mum, she’s busy on the phone, or cooking dinner, or just generally tired from ‘being mum’ all day. She says “Not now, can’t you see I’m busy/tired”. To a child, this can be programmed as ‘I’m not important’, ‘I did something nice, and she doesn’t even want it’. Perhaps you did something naughty as a child, or were mistaken for being naughty (as many ‘normal’ children do!), and were sent to your room with words like, ‘You’re not having dessert, you don’t deserve it’.

Then comes the important bit: you need to practise forgiveness on every aspect you uncover. You need to peel and heal every layer.

A wonderful technique for this is called ‘ho’oponopono’. It is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.

It consists of 4 statements:

  • I love you.
  • I’m sorry.
  • Please forgive me.
  • Thank you.

On every aspect you uncover, say these like a mantra. Even better if you can just use them as a meditation. Relax with some soothing music and repeat the mantra over and over. You don’t have to always be thinking of something or someone specifically, although it is powerful if you do. You can address the mantra to another person, to yourself, to your younger self/child. You are addressing this more to your own subconscious, letting it know it is safe to release those thoughts now.

The £100 game

£100gameHow do you activate the energy of abundance in your life? Especially when it can be quite hard to feel abundant.

As we know, wealth and abundance are created in your mindset before they appear in your wallet.

The thought of ‘I can’t afford that’ is a low energy vibration, and attracts more things that you can’t afford.

Here is a little game you can use to change your thoughts and mindset from one of ‘I can’t afford it’, to ‘I could have that if I want’.

Put £100 in your wallet or purse or pocket. Don’t worry if you have it earmarked for something else. You’re not going to spend it. If you don’t actually have £100, print out some pictures of the notes/bills, or buy some of those napkins or tissues you can get that look like money, they’re only a few pennies to buy if you can find them. The important thing is that you can ‘pretend’ they are real money that you can spend.

Go on a universal spending spree. Walk around the stores. Look at things you like and could buy with your £100, and just say to yourself things like ‘I can have that’, ‘I could buy that’, ‘That will look great on me’, ‘I can afford that’, ‘I have the money to buy that’.

Get the feeeeeeeling of abundance, that you could buy those things if you chose to. Even if you come home having not actually bought anything, you still have £100, but most of all you will feel better. You could have mentally ‘spent’ your £100 one hundred times, meaning you have spent £10,000 in one day. You will have moved your abundance mindset to a positive one of possibility rather than a negative one of lack, and you may quickly see evidence of your improved energy vibration, possibly in the form of an unexpected windfall. When you do see some evidence, remember to say ‘Thank you universe’ and relish the feeling of gratitude to keep that vibration active.

Going The Extra Mile Benefits Everyone Including Yourself

extra mileIn a world where mediocrity is becoming alarmingly common, it’s a refreshing change to encounter people who are willing to go the extra mile.

If we are lucky we encounter such people on a daily basis. A checkout clerk who is particularly courteous, a co-worker who helps you do something not in their job description, or even a family member who does something to lighten your load.

Going beyond what others expect of you can never be a bad thing. It’s a great principle to live by no matter who you are or what you do.

Your attitude is something that shines out beyond the boundaries of what you present to others. There’s nothing that beats the feeling when someone surprises you by going the extra mile.

Nature encourages the habit of going the extra mile. If every animal/plant in the ecosystem had a lazy attitude the world would end. It’s as if Mother Nature encourages working harder than is called for.

If every human on the planet adopted a philosophy of going the extra mile the world would undoubtedly be a better place. Imagine a world were service is always courteous and delivered with a smile.

While it’s possible to still earn a living without ever having to push the boundaries of what you will do, that will not do much in terms of helping you achieve your goals.

As an example – Yesterday I stopped at the coffee shop in the supermarket I was shopping in, and asked the assistant for a latte to go. The assistant who took my order was pleasant, she served me with a smile. The second assistant, who was making the coffees (a couple, not just mine), plonked a ‘to go’ cup on the counter. I asked her “Is this mine?”. No answer, maybe she didn’t hear me. I asked again, still no answer. I didn’t want to take the coffee in case I was mistaken and it was not mine. I asked for a third time. This time she turned and said a gruff “Yeah”, without even looking at me. Now, which assistant is going to be in the lead when an opportunity for promotion or extra hours comes available? Quite frankly, if I were her boss, she probably wouldn’t have her job tomorrow.

Several years ago, I used to buy clothes from an online seller. The packages would arrive, and each item of clothing would be individually wrapped in tissue paper with a cute ribbon tie and a candy lollipop attached. Such a small extra detail, but one that made the retailer hugely memorable. They went that extra mile. And my children loved when I bought from there!

How to Visualize the Things You Want

visualizationHow can you visualize the goals that you have? There are techniques that move you deeper into your own inner power to see with greater clarity what you want to create.

Visualization is by far one of the most powerful tools for good setting and attracting what you want. Yet few people know how to properly visualize. With the right technique you can begin to see outstanding results in successfully attracting what you want, if you fully apply what you learn.

Firstly, you are visualizing all the time. You may not be aware of it but you are always conjuring up images in your mind. When you are speaking on the telephone to someone you are usually trying to see in your mind what they are telling you. You also visualize when you are deep in thought. When you are worrying about paying your debt or worrying about the way you would really like to live your life you are also visualizing. However, worrying is negatively directed visualization, as you are focusing more on lack.

The trick is to use that creative force to actually attract the things you want. This is where many people go terribly wrong.

Here is a great test to help you understand the most effective way to visualize. Think of the last time you were deep in thought. Now try to remember what that felt like. If you can recall that time, you will notice that you were deep inside of yourself. You were unaware of anyone or anything and as you were allowing yourself to visualize you could feel clearly that you were having the experience as if it were real. That is the power of visualization.

When people ask all the time, “How do I visualize the things I want?”, I tell them the same way you visualize the things that you don’t want. You see when you are feeling anxious and fearful you lock yourself away in your inner mind with those images. You lose sight of other possibilities and if it is something that happened to you, then you recreate it in its full detail with all your emotions all over again.

Try to immerse yourself with full emotions when you are trying to create the things you want. Many thoughts may come to distract you but if you will redirect your mind to what you do want your mind will be trained to hold that thought.

There are many tools and techniques that can greatly empower your ability to visualize if you really have a hard time. You can add extreme magnetism to any mental image you want to create as long as you apply the right technique.

My favourite technique is to create a vision board, and I have had much success with mine. I collect pictures of things I would like to achieve and attach them to a physical board, or copy and paste digital images onto a document then print it out to stick on my wall, somewhere I will see it often. Another option is to store images in a folder on the computer and set the screensaver to rotate the images whenever I am not using the computer. Then get into the place of ‘feeling’ how lovely life is when my visions have materialised.

UPDATE: Within a few short hours of my posting this, a lovely neighbour has knocked on my door and given me a car battery charger, as they know I have had some difficulty starting my car for a few weeks and they just ‘happened’ to find a spare one 😀

7 Ways to Use the Law of Attraction to Manifest Faster Results

manifesting dogManifesting takes a delicate balancing act. The law of attraction requires a look inside of yourself to gain more harmony with the universe. The moment you discover the steps everything flows faster and greater.

The whole idea of the law of attraction is to be a co-creator with God in manifesting the things that are closest to your heart. When you use the law of attraction in the right way you can experience manifesting your desires at a much faster rate than you ever would have had you not made the effort to use it correctly.

You can use the law of attraction to manifest faster results by taking the following steps.

1. Be Grateful Now

Gratitude can dramatically change your life but best of all it gets the law of attraction to give you more of what you are feeling grateful and happy for. When you are feeling frustrated and down the law of attraction gives you more reasons to feel down. You manifest more situations that make you feel unhappy. So as the first rule to manifesting faster results begin to see all the things in your present life that you are grateful for no matter how simple it is.

2. Speak of It

It may seem hypocritical at first when you learn of the law of attraction to speak of your desires as if they are already here. In reality all things are already created. The moment a thought is conceived you have brought it into your reality. The more you speak of that thought the stronger it becomes and the faster it moves into your state of being. Think of a child who becomes eager about the thing he or she wants. See how eager they are about it? They look up pictures about it, they speak about what they will do when they get it. They don’t worry about how or when it will come, they just know and above all they are excited about it. Speak with joy about what will come into your life because your words and thoughts about it feeds that creation and brings it to you faster.

3. Surround Yourself With The Things You Desire

You may be asking, how can I surround myself with the things that I want if I don’t have it? It may not be yours at the moment but you can borrow, you can visit, above all you can place yourself in the environment and among the people who are closely link to the things you desire. The successful application of the law of attraction depends on you already being in that energy of what you want. It is up to you to create the state that you want to attract and you do so by being among the things that you want until it is fully yours. The law of attraction will give you quite easily what you bring into your focus, whether you are speaking of it or observing it. You get more of what you surround yourself with.

4. Let Go!!!

Let go of what you want. Yes, let it go. Know that you desire to experience a particular thing but don’t hold on out of fear of doubt. The more you cling on to the needing or wanting feeling, the more disastrous your manifesting will be. You will only succeed in feeling more needy. Allow yourself to feel full and confident. Those who understand how the universe and the law of attraction work easily understand the power of their intention and don’t feel stress or needy. They create and know that the law of attraction is working for them and what they create will soon manifest. They create then let go and move into the state of receiving.

There is a great paradox that comes with letting go because a very large part of manifesting requires that you give a lot of focus to your desire but there is a delicate balancing act of focus without feeling needy or being clingy.

5. Learn to Receive

To activate the law of attraction you must move into the state of receiving. This is something most people struggle with. Many people say that they want certain things but few people know how to receive those things that they are asking for. Most people feel doubtful or unworthy about what they want. Deep within they feel that they do not deserve nor will they get what they are asking for. Those tiny feeling of unworthiness are giant blocks in the manifesting process and can only serve in destroying what you are hoping to attract. The law of attraction is a science that takes you deep into your inner nature and allows you to see where you are feeling disconnected as a co-creator with God and the universe. Become worthy and allow yourself to receive. For example, if somebody offers to buy your coffee, instead of saying “No it’s ok, I’ll get it”, get used to saying “Thank you very much, that’s really kind of you”, and connect with the feeling of gratitude within you.

6. Become Worthy Now

Become worthy by recognizing that you can manifest anything that you want because you are Gods and Goddesses and what you desire is only a tiny speck in the universe. You deserve to manifest what you want because when you are rich you influence those around you in positive ways. When you use the law of attraction to manifest a better life you are in the flow and in a better state of adding value to the world. The faster you can feel worthy of what you desire to manifest the faster it will come.

One of the biggest blocks in manifesting is the feeling of unworthiness that most people feel. God wants you to have, the universe is great enough and there is more than enough for you and everyone else. You are worthy!.

7. Give What You Desire Most

You may not have all the money in the world for yourself but you do have something of value and that thing which is of value to you may be in scarce supply to someone else. Give to others and you will be stunned and amazed by how fast the law of attraction will manifest abundance in your life.

There is a natural flow in the universe and in order to manifest more you must also be in the flow of giving. Give to others as long as you do not give more of yourself. There are many flawed concepts of giving more than you have, this is very faulty. Give only what you can, never ever deplete yourself. Give what makes you feel happy to give. Give with love on a regular basis but also be aware of conserving your own and the law of attraction will bless you by bringing to you much more than you give. As you give you will get and you will manifest much more than you could ever have imagined and much faster too.
